The Department of Biotechnology & Chemical Engineering, under the Faculty of Science, Technology and Architecture (FoSTA) at Manipal University Jaipur, stands at the dynamic intersection of chemistry, biology, and engineering. This multidisciplinary department nurtures innovation in sustainable technologies, bioprocesses, advanced materials, and industrial applications. It offers the following academic programs: B.Tech in Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, and Computer Science & Bioscience; M.Tech in Computational Biology; and Ph.D. programs in Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, and allied interdisciplinary areas. Equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories from bench-scale to pilot-scale, the department has secured major research funding, including DST-PURSE, along with grants from DST-SERB, DBT, ICMR, and industry partners. Renowned for high-impact publications and patents, it fosters a collaborative environment where students and faculty work together to address real-world challenges and drive sustainable solutions.

About the Conference

The International Conference on Advanced Sustainable Technologies (ICAST-2026), scheduled for 19–21 August 2026 at Manipal University Jaipur, is a premier interdisciplinary platform dedicated to addressing global sustainability challenges through cutting-edge research and innovation. Organized by the Department of Biotechnology & Chemical Engineering, MUJ, ICAST-2026 brings together researchers, academicians, students, and industry professionals to explore transformative solutions in green hydrogen, sustainable aviation fuels, critical minerals and responsible mining, advanced energy storage and recycling, environmental remediation, circular economy, life cycle assessment (LCA), AI & machine learning applications, digital technologies, novel materials science, modeling, simulation, and process control. The conference will feature keynote addresses, oral and poster presentations, panel discussions, and industry exhibitions. Selected high-quality abstracts will be considered for publication in a Scopus-indexed journal after rigorous peer review. ICAST-2026 aims to foster meaningful collaborations and inspire actionable ideas for a more sustainable and technologically advanced future.
